Design icon Karim Rashid believes that we should be embracing the time we live in. He wants people to stop living in the past, and start living in the present in stead.

In this exclusive video, Karim shares his thoughts and philosophy on interior design and public spaces.
He wants through his design to make people feel alive, happy and aware of their existence. The moment you feel that you are alive, is what Karim wants to touch in all his projects.

Karim Rashid (b 1960) is an industrial designer and interior architect. His designs include luxury goods, furniture, lighting, surface design, brand identity. He has designed well over 4.000 objects.

His work, all sensual curves and bright colours, is instantly recognizable and has been variously described by himself as ”sensual minimalism” and ”blobjects” Karim’s work is featured in 20 permanent collections and he exibits art in galleries world wide including the MoMA, Centre Pompidou and SFMOMA. He holds honorary doctorates from the Ontario College of Art & Design, Pratt Institute and Corcoran College of Art & Design. Karim is a frequent guest lecturer at universities and conferences speaking about the importance of design in everyday life.

Karim Rashid has won more than 40 awards, including the George Nelson award, the Canadian Designer of the Year award, and the Red Dot Design award.

Time magazine has described him as the ”most famous industrial designer in all the Americas”.
